The way to verify the baudrate it to send some test characters and measure the bitrate with an oscilloscope.

A simulator can only show the correct baudrate if it also knows the true physical chip and the true physical crystal and if the chip runs as 1-clocker, 4-clocker, 12-clocker or similar.
