Oh, you're confusing the chip packaging (DIP, SOIC, BGA, QFP, whatever) with how the finished chips are packaged for transport (tubes, reels, trays, etc). OK, some Google-fu turns up this document, which uses the term "Carrier" to indicate the "plastic tube, tray or tape with cavities, which can contain semiconductor products." On the PIP page in question the active 40 pin DIPs all have a 112 suffix, but if you read below that into "discontinued variants" section then some of the 44 pin PLCCs also use 112. As far as I can tell, the "112" package is a tube. -a |
