#177010 - on-chip Boot FLASH Responding to: ???'s previous message |
AT89C5131 has on-chip code FLASH (3 KBytes) dedicated for bootloader (FM1), other than 32 KBtyes main code FLASH (FM0). FM1 is also customizable.
When EA pin is 1, the boot FLASH is certainly available. In this mode, the on-chip code FLASH occupies the lower 32KB of the code space. Upper 32KB is available for the bank area on external memory over PSEN control pin. This configuration matches well to the code banking scheme provided by KEIL BL51 linker (at the first post, OP said he is using uVision2). When EA pin is 0, I'm not sure, if this boot FLASH is still available or not. I don't test it yet. And the datasheet doesn't describe on this issue well. Tsuneo |
