Thank you for your comments. I downloaded a simulator, EdSim51, for the 8051. I also found an assembly powerpoint for the 8051. I appreciate the info. I was going through a tutorial on a different chip thinking the assembly code was the same across the board. I am looking for a tutorial for C as well.
