Each DS18B20 has a unique serial number.
As you physically attach each new sensor, the program can write a physical location to its eeprom. Yes. You will have to connect / disconnect / heat / cool a sensor to identify it. But this is a one-off job at installation. Replacement of a sensor with a virgin DS18B20 will automatically detect the missing slot number. And allocate this to the new sensor. David. |
