#175486 - which in effect means... Responding to: ???'s previous message |

It's just the large availability of PCs and Internet that makes lousy programmers able to flood the world with lousy PC programs. Had there been more common hw platforms, they would manage to flood the world with lousy embedded applications too. Also, the lack of a large monitor and HDD for trace output makes some of the worst developers stay away from embedded programming - it isn't graphical enough. Which in effect means, that firmware development is not "hot". Yet. Reading the latest "news" (read: push from silicon and tools vendors), they are exerting serious efforts to make it "hot" (read: lousy and graphical). JW |
