To add to Maarten's posting, the use of a USB interface offers a number of options on how to power the acquisition device. You can choose to: - Power the device directly off the USB interface as long as you can live with the 2.5W limit of available power. - Power from a brick or wall wart offering a low voltage solution with simplified safety certifications. This selection also offers great choices in terms of converter type and thus some degree of control over the quality of the delivered DC power. - Power the device direct from AC power for those special instances where a fair amount of power is required.
