#174803 - SPI SRAM Responding to: ???'s previous message |
SPI SRAMs are now available by both Microchip and ON Semi.
--- As they say, there are many ways to skin a cat. The mainstream would say, Ethernet calls for ARM/MIPS/x86 (even a fully blown PC). Often, this is appropriate - Ethernet often means a lot of data - but of course this is missing the point: application should match the purpose, not the appearance of it. So I believe there are applications out there appropriate for '51+Ethernet, but certainly they are niches. You might perhaps want to be prepared for both: the mainstream, to get you the mainstream job, and the niche, to get an edge over the crowd who can do ONLY the mainstream. While at it, you might perhaps want to have a look at Wiznet's newest '51-Ethernet combo chip; it appears to have an unusually generous amount of RAM onchip. JW |
