The actual chip neither knows nor cares what you write your source code in.
All that matters to the chip is that you put the right values into the right SFRs.

Loading a value into an SFR in Keil C51 is virtually the same as doing it in assembler - you really don't need any detailed assembler experience for that.

Similarly for reading from SFRs.
