I think the point here is quantity rather than quality.

The OP has stated that he is not interested in detail - he considers it a "waste of time" - therefore, he can't be very interested in optimum efficiency or "quality", can he?

The chances of finding something - anything - in your preferred assembler for your specific chip is very much less than the chance of finding something in 'C'.

That doesn't mean that the 'C' is any better (or worse) - just that there's far more likely to be something.
