#170849 - Minimize I2C activity Responding to: ???'s previous message |
When I implement a 1307 RTC I "shadow" all the clock registers in ram and use the SQW output to generate an interrupt to update the Seconds shadow and display the time and date from ram. When the seconds roll over to 00 I refresh the shadows from the RTC with one burst read. This keeps the I2C bus activity to a minimum. |
