If you only have a few large variables that need to be banked, then you don't need to use Keil's banking at all - just do it "manually"

I have successfully used this approach before - where all the "normal" variables are managed by the compiler as non-banked, and there was just a "manual" bank-switch to access a 32K "bank" for data logging...
