#165288 - AVR500 can be used for some 8051 chips
Responding to: ???'s previous message
One thing about the AVR500 (and other equipment capable of using the AVRISP protocol) - if you invert the reset line of the ISP interface, then you should be able to program at least _some_ Atmel 8051 chips. This information from an Atmel support engineer, about a specific Atmel 8051 chip I needed to program like "yesterday".

I'll leave it to someone else to try and compile a list of chips that can be programmed that way. I think it was the AT89S51 I needed to program, but really don't remember.
