Hopefully this will turn out well, but I know what you mean. I've used the Hi-Tech compiler for a number of PICs for a while now and it's been pretty high quality. I hope that continues, or gets even better.
From an engineering point of view, I can appreciate both the PICs and 8051 depending on cost requirements/application. Although admittedly I like the 8051 more in some ways, or at least when I use Keil. Haven't used the SiLabs compiler from them but will look into it if it's recommended... |
