#163062 - Terms and conditions of Bootloader v7 |
Hi everyone,
do you guys know what legally happens if the bootloader v7 for a P89V51RD2xx fails? My boss is concerned about what would it be if one of our customers blame us for an issue regarding the bootloader v7. With v6, I believe we could make up for damages at NXP, because v6 is the bootloader version which NXP ships its chips with. What about v7? The ZIP archive downloaded from FlashMagic's site contains a document whose header shows "Philips Semiconductors". But I cannot find anything on NXP's site. What we're trying to do is offering an upgradable firmware to our customers without human interventions. Bootloader v6 doesn't suit our specifications and we need v7 to achieve the task. If something goes wrong with v7, the customer could potentially be in need of manually restore each system and make up for damages at us. I know the upgrade process will never be 100% safe: a power loss at the right moment and the system never boots up again until reprogrammed. The customer should be well aware of that. Anyway, to stay on the safe side, I was wondering what are the terms and conditions for bootloader v7. |
