I like the idea of this challenge, it is just the sort of thing I enjoy.
Is this right: As I understand it the BEST solution(s) will be the one that get the most votes and it is possible that this will not be the fastest. Documentation and style are also factors. Besides, some judges might consider that a saving of just a few cycles bought at the expense of dispropotionally longer code (a huge look-up table for instance) might not be considered optimal. In the spirit of competition, there should be an outright winner, but we might also highlight instances of novel or interesting solutions. |
