The raw dc supply must hold the minimum available dc voltage above the maximum required voltage to create the desired output so the input supply must reflect that voltage requirement. Steve: You will notice that in my original post I specified a "suitable" H bridge. I am not sure if a single phase bridge large enough is available or whether a 150 or 200 amp three phase one will be cheaper than a 100 amp home built one. Certainly International Rectifier's web site will give good starting information. These drive modules have a lot of dynamic range reserve for motor starting and fault clearing. If the duty cycle is low enough a smaller module may suffice but only the design requirements and the data sheets will determine that. Terry |
