Do I really need Capacitor bank for converting rectified Pulsating DC to pure DC. What kind of capacitors are suitable here 400V min 100Amps. Do these induction heaters

1. Rectify using thyristors [ SCR ].
2. Capacitor for converting to pure DC.
3. IGBT/MOSFET H Bridge for converting to 40kHz AC.

Its your field Prahlad, can't you get inside another unit and find out ?
Anyway, to your points
1.) I doubt. What would be the point ? Just use BIG rectifiers.

2.) Unavoidably, but very high voltage caps hold more energy than their 5V counterparts. It doesn't have to be VERY pure DC though, so lots of ripple would be acceptable, provided you can still get weld drive.

3.) Yes.

4.) You need VERY low ESR caps, but mechanically big ones HAVE low ESR don't they ?
