#190145 - pot limits
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Hi Raghunathan,

You know the maximum current the potentiometer wiper/contacts will have to conduct when set at zero ohms. Hook one up to a power supply and stress test it. Find out how much current it can handle. If you need, I have a 20 A supply I use for plating. Send one and I'll let you know if it melts or lets the smoke out first, and at what current. But in all seriousness, is it really likely that 20 mA will cause it to fail?

Good luck,
Joe
