Andy,
more like decades of experience with the 8052 versus 7 years of experience with some of the 32 bit micros You cannot deny that you have to set multiple registers just to access a port of I/O on 32 bit micros. Often the documentation is poor to explain how to accomplish what you want to do. I am not saying that a 32 bit micro does not have a place in doing simple tasks, but I would not use a wrench to hammer in a nail. I believe in using the right tool for the job. Somtimes a 32 bit micro is warranted, but sometimes an 8 bit micro will do the job better and easier. I have seen you on the LM3S9B96 forum, what is your take on TI NRNDing the LM3S9B96? |
