I've fiddled with impulse testing in the past but I've been put off by it. A large impulse may swamp the system (i.e. make it go non-linear) and a small impulse calls for really good resolution on the measurements, possibly below the noise floor. PRBS seems a better bet, but needs more effort then swept sine waves to establish the validity of the test setup (especially if it's your first attempt). |
