As you are below 10KHz, why not try something like this ?

This uses a PC Sound Card, and has good frequency measurement tools.
It has a script language, so you should be able to control tests.


One thing Daqarta doesn't do is transfer function, which for control systems could be useful. For that, one might try Smaart. It's designed for acoustic and audio measuring (with a reference signal fed into a system and a measurement input taken from a microphone or an audio output of the system under test).

Disclaimer: I know the Rational Acoustics guys and have done some work for them.
