According to my friend (www.cpushack.com), that chip is actually worth about $3k (!?!?). He says that seller likes to list high, lol.

But yes, things are only worth what someone else will pay for them. People collect stamps, shoes, purses, and a lot of other stuff I don't see the purpose for. At least CPUs have some intrinsic value with the gold contained in each one. My friend is also known for buying large lots marked for gold scrap, just to get a couple good CPUs out, then scrapping the rest.

At this point in time, CPU collecting is turning into a pretty good business if you know the in's and out's.
