No, wxWidgets isn't just a GUI part. The original name wxWindows (M$ chipped in money to get a name change) was even more indicating that it was a GUI-only framework, but that is not the case.
It contains file manipulation, threading, networking and other things too, to better allow the creation of portable applications. And compilers - for example gcc - exists for a large number of platforms, so there are no problems to find suitable build tools to create binaries on the platforms that should be supported. |
