JTAG is a standard, so in theory, any vendor's JTAG interface should be able to program any vendor's devices.
The problem is that the Xilinx iMPACT tool works only with Xilinx' programming dongles, and Altera's software works only with Altera's dongles, and Actel's works with Actel, etc and so on. -a |
