#186450 - On-line simulator
Responding to: ???'s previous message
There is a new on-line simulator. See:

http://www.edn.com/blog/Powe...lectronics

Not only will it help simulate this circuit, it might be useful for anyone who's budget conscious. I don't think it'll replace a fully integrated development environment, but it's something and a bargain at twice the price.

Anyone who knows me will tell you that I'm all for saving money when I can. I built my own vacuum table for a little over a $100 (compared to the $1000 for LPKF's). I use a PID controller and an IR toaster over for a reflow oven (over $2000 savings). And I just finished building my own multilayer lamination press for less than $300 (compared to $15,000 commercially, or ~$7000 used). On the other hand, I did not spend years developing my own PCB milling machine.

I said all of that for one reason, to add emphasis to this final point. Erik is right. You NEED an oscilloscope. If you can't afford one right now you might have to make due, but make a priority of affording one.

Good luck,

Joe
