Last time I used some simple minded PALs I used PALASM. The thing is a DOS program if I recall. You can get all the install materials and manuals for it from here:
http://www.ge.infn.it/~fontanel/palasm/ That would be for PALASM4 Ver 1.5 according to the ReadMe.Txt file. If you go for some other small CPLD type part from say Xilinx you can download their toolset for free (they call the free thing the Web Pack) and use it for any of their smaller parts. You can draw the design in schematic form or use the Verilog or VHDL text input methods. Other CPLD vendors have similar arrangements. Michael Karas |
