Personally, I believe that mad men must be allowed to make stupid claims.
But the sane people must be able to filter what they hear, and use their own brains now and then. We can't really throw everyone with a "controversial" claim in jail just to protect the rest of the population. Once upon a time, it was a ridiculous claim that the earth was round, or that it circled around the sun. If we do not let people themselves decide what is ridiculous, then we will repeat those mistakes. |
