Erik : I'm looking for an XLR like connector. Are there any types you know with staggerd pins? Neil : what I want to do is to make a device expandable with modules. Nothing like a backplane with insert but more modules connected by a short cable. An example : http://www.bengranfelt.com/images/equipment_images/rigg_controller.jpg There is a small cable between the main and right expansion module. Michael : the distance between the modules isn't always the same so a cable (never longer then 50cm) is neccesary. I'm going to look into the chip. Thinking about : is isolating the I2C with an appropriate isolator and using an isolated DC DC converter for the power supply maybe a solution? Rather expensive so not really wanted but if it solves some issues... Peter |
