Check these products out that are shown at the DisplayLink web site. Products that use the DisplayLink silicon and companion video drivers are in my experience going to be the better performing choices.
http://www.displaylink.com/shop/inde...?product=6 I use their USB - DVI adapters to support two additional monitors off my laptop in addition to the one I can attach to the laptop's docking station DVI port. USB video adapters like these work for most software. They do not work for some programs. Two I know that do not work are Google Earth and the Cadence Allegro PC board designer package.
