#182458 - Development tools for implmenenting the tool
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Another factor is used tools.

Paying expensive M$ licenses for the development tools needed to develop the application, also means that the application will be Windows-based.

If going for free tools (gcc, wxWidgets, ...) you don't have to pay anything for the development tools. The disadvantage is less integration with Windows but the advantage is that the tools can generate programs for other targets too.

So even if the Linux audience wasn't large, there may be a Linux version because the cost savings from using free tools allowed the application source to be recompiled at a low cost for other targets.
