I seem to remember that TI retained the Burr-Brown and Benchmarq "branding" for a long time after acquiring them.

Has B-B's branding gone recently ? I'm sure I have bought B-B from Farnell recently ?

Steve

I have data sheets for some TI op-amps targeted at the audio crowd that still retain the "Burr-Brown" brand. OPA1612 is still "Burr-Brown Audio" on the most-recent data sheet, dated Aug 2009. The current data sheet for the OPA2227 family (dated 2005) is Burr-Brown Products from Texas Instruments. There are other examples (PGA2500, PGA2310). I suppose as the data sheets get revised, for whatever reason, the Burr-Brown branding is removed. I think that recent fab runs of the chips also do not have any BB marking.

I suspect that TI probably still likes to milk the name "Burr-Brown" because of audiophool association with it.

And speaking of removed logos, the former Burr-Brown facility near the Tucson International Airport has had all Burr-Brown branding removed. It's also entirely empty, and has been, for some time, and waiting for a new occupant.
