Yes, I understood you didn't plan to run from serial flash, but just wanted to make sure that whoever else is reading this thread now or months/years from now do realize that execution from serial flash is very slow. Very good for kick-starting a processor but no real solution for the main software.
It's just that it sounds so nice with running from serial flash that people may jump at it without first considering what the potential disadvantages may be. |
