I guess that the writer of the code did a "quick and dirty" to show/fix some issue and that the code was grabbed and published against the writers protest. It is amazing what "the powers that be" can do to make websites (that is where devboard code is found) unusable to engineers. The salesman is happy to say "we have code for that" do not expect him/her to have any idea of what shape it is in. This is unrealistic, but would it not be wonderful if some company with a high anticipated usage would say to a salesman "we will not use your chip unless you provide clean code fot the devboard". When I was young, many (most) companies were run by engineers and decisions were based on "the article", now that they are run by beancounters decisions are made by "the headlines". Erik |
