#178225 - Wrong concept yields wrong simulation?
As I was looking into a linear opto circuit,

I was really bothered by what the application notes said. http://www.clare.com/home/pdfs...AN-107.pdf

It mentions that the LED current If increase with the Vin (dc). However, the input opamp is basically in an open loop configuration (the Vin is dc). This would mean its output would swing to either +ve or -ve rail. If that is the case, how can the If current depend on the Vin?

Either I never understood an opamp or I am missing something here. I tried simulation of the circuit but the result was what I thought (no dependence of the If on the Vin). (or was the simulation basically the "garbage in garbage out"?
