#174368 - Must be some kind of ... ... Hot Tub Time Machine Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I couldn't help, but post that... sorry. Also, a water hammer can be commonly seen in sprinkler systems which have very long length of travel. In the question in case, I highly doubt one could easily fabricate such a test without consuming massive amounts of money. How big of a tank are you going to need before you start to see water at the other end with a pipe that long? Is the pipe going to be large enough in diameter that the water will be able to push that far? Youre assuming that it is possible to create such a mechanism and I have yet to see the validity in that assumption. Basically, if you had the money, is it physically viable? I mean you could say that it might be possible on another planet.... This is like the question if you put an "S" shaped sprinkler inside a tub filled with water and apply suction to the end of the hose what will the sprinkler do? It's easier to just make a model and see if it works. |
