The classic comparator circuit is actually ratiometric as well to the extent that the thresholds produced will be proportional to the supply voltage.

The threshold voltages specified for digital logic IC chip Schmitt trigger devices are quite loose (i.e. vary over a wide range) from part to part. If one is after an application that entails precision pick off points along a slow signal the IC chip solution is not usually suitable.
