No particular reason, but it seems to work OK.
Another useful tool is the KNOPPIX CD. It has a memory test on it that can be loaded at boot time. I need that just as a confidence-building measure, as it runs from the CD, hence can operate on my Windows boxes, which is helpful since there are so few Windows tools that verify that everything is working properly.
