#171072 - Short antennas Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Antennas of Lambda/4 (with the other quarter as an image in ground plane) have aprox.50 Ohms resistive. Shorter antennas present a complex impedance of a resistive part allways lower than 50 Ohms (and lowest as more short the antenna is), and a serial capacitance. So, at least it is necessary to put some series inductance ("tunning" the antenna) and some transformer to adapt the resistive part.
In some part af the web should be the formulas to estimate Rs and Cs as function of antenna dimensions (large and diameter). Daniel |
