#169692 - That's one of the dangers Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I've found that a large proportion of HR people don't know the buzzwords. Hopefully, with the passage of some time, this problem has become less common than it once was, but I recall HR guys who didn't know that Ethernet was a LAN, and IEEE 802.3 was Ethernet, etc. They often didn't know that RS232 IS used for asynchronous serial communication, and that RS485 IS used for serial communication ... you get the idea ...
I do, however, believe that O/P's should make the distinction between HW, FW, and SW (Hardware, Firmware, and Software) queries. Hardware would include things like, "I can't get my MCU to produce ALE", and Firmware includes queries like, "My LCD displays the wrong characters", while Software would include queries such as, "Why does the KEIL compiler produce this ..." Naturally there will be crossover, but the O/P should indicate whether he believes his problem to be with his circuitry, his code, or his development tools. RE |
