#168785 - There are many in the PRC, and prices vary Responding to: ???'s previous message |
They're ALL, from among the ones whose work I've seen, much, Much, MUCH higher in quality and much, Much, MUCH lower in cost that any in the U.S. or in easter Europe. I once got 2500 boards on my doorstep in four days, at less than half the cost of ten boards in the U.S. from a prominent prototype house that didn't offer mask and silkscreen, and required five days. Further, all the boards I got were fully electrically tested. Of the lot of ten that I once got from that "prominent" prototype house, only one was useable. I've had boards assembled and tested to 100% acceptable levels in the PRC at cost less than boards fabricated and assembled in the U.S. with less than 1% functional yield.
Of course the PRC firms want large volume. However, they can build boards with tolerances no U.S. maker will guarantee, and very tight tolerance on solder mask, which is critical with BGA packages. Use the www to find board makers in Korea or China. They'll provide adequate product at lowest cost in the shortest time. Shipping to the U.S. has been the biggest component in the cost up to now.
