If so, then I think you need a specifically-equipped modem.

It's not that there's anything special about the modulation used - it's just the position that it comes during the call setup (viz, during the ringing phase, IIRC.)


Didn't realise they were different things ! A customer is looking at an application where the "caller ID" on a landline (whatever caller ID means now) unlocks a gate.
