Compared to most other kinds of temperature sensor, whose linearities can usually be described as "rabid weasel on crack in a tornado during an earthquake", PT100s are pretty much linear.

And if Per really only needs 2-3 degrees resolution within -50/+175 degrees, he can probably use that PT100 without linearizing it in software, since the maximum deviation is <1.5 °C.

Of course, if he needs to be accurate within fractions of a degree, he'll still have to linearize the output.
