#162931 - Hall Effect Sensors Responding to: ???'s previous message |
One of the easiest ways to measure AC or DC current all the way up to 200A is to use the hall effect sensors from Allegro
http://www.allegromicro.com/en/Produc...sensor.asp How you make a PCB track to handle 200A is a different problem! Isolation is built in, although if you are measuring AC you will have add averaging or true RMS yourself. LEM do similar hall effect devices, but the products that I have seen involve creating the hall effect "shunt" as a track on the PCB and placing the IC over this. For AC currents you can use a current transformer. We have used product from Bicron (http://www.bicronusa.com/currentsensors.html) and CR Magnetics (http://www.crmagnetics.com/) -Aubrey |
