#157834 - Much patched little laptop Responding to: ???'s previous message |
A lot of people have spent time souping up the Eee PC.
I have settled for replacing the 512MB RAM with a 2GB stick, and a 32GB Corsair USB thumb-drive soldered to an internal USB interface available inside the memory cover. Then I installed a full gcc. I still haven't settled on an IDE or programmers editor. I got the memory to run anything, but not the desktop real estate. I need just about every pixel to display the edited text. I do a lot of embedded development for a Linux-based PPC platform, and with the Eee PC, I can run all needed tools for that target. I just wonder if the Keil ARM compiler can run in Wine so I can work with the I/O processor too. |
