#156861 - False colors? Responding to: ???'s previous message |
The LCD panels still have a big problem producing the full set of colors of a good (but not so expensive) CRT. To get an LCD monitor with Adobe-RGB support, you really have to pay.
So for photographers and movie enthusiasts, you may have to stay with CRT a while longer, unless you have the money, if you want the "correct" color, and not just "beautiful colors". I personally has a CRT and a LCD with the analog inputs connected to a dual-headed KVM switch. The dual DVI inputs of the LCD is connected to the second monitor output of two computers, allowing them to present an image without the DAC/ADC conversion. The BNC inputs of the CRT is connected to my main computer, for optimum analog bandwidth. Just perfect for a good movie :) One thing to notice when selecting a LCD is that the power consumption can vary quite a lot. Some of them can be just as hungry as a CRT. |
