Is your CPU a intel or AMD? I'm sure AMD CPU can not handel indian weather. i've fried two of them.
All of the more recent AMD CPU models (Athlon 64 and above) contain an internal temperature sensor, and the mainboard will shut down the computer if the CPU temperature exceeds the safe limits. It should be virtually impossible to "fry" any of them without making serious mistakes. Older AMD CPUs (Athlon XP) do not have an internal temperature sensor, so the mainboard needs to measure the temperature with an external sensor, which is inherently less accurate. But with a properly sized heatsink and fan, it should be fairly impossible to "fry" those, too, unless you try to run the CPU without a heatsink. Applying a heat conductive paste between heatsink and the chip is also a good idea, and it works most of the time, as far as i know. It's not "a good idea", it's mandatory to have some sort of interface material between the CPU and the heatsink (thermal pad or paste). If you leave that out, you're asking for thermal problems. |
