You may want also to consider good old reliable Visual Basic 6. It can be upgraded to Service Pack 6 via a download (at least last time I checked) and works right nicely with XP and 2K. It also works with Vista but some extra setup futzing is required (but then most smart folks have steered wide and clear of Vista).
VB6 is included in the packages once sold as Visual Studio 6 and there were separate SKUs with just VB6. These are often available on eBay for nominal cost and include CDs and registration keys if you look for the correct sales. Mike Karas Here is one example of a reasonable looking auction: |
