#151734 - Config File check
Hi all,

I'm wondering : I'm writing PC software which has the possiblity to read and write config files to and from harddisk.
Is it common practice to check the content of the config file when reading it back into the application?

There is a (unwanted!!) possiblity that the user changes the file which can cause weird things in the application

The configfile is actually a textfile with several midi sysex messages. These message contain a checksum which could be used.

So I'm wondering what is usually done.
Peter
