I have used the term "embedded sysytems" to show I'm not talking about PCs and their programming.
but let me add my experience is limited to 8-bit MCUs, in addition I don't have any experience of using RTOS. Can we talk about the concept of middleware independently of the concept of Operating sysytem? what is an example for middleware in 8-bit MCU based systems? do we use middleware only when there is a network? Are middlewares kind of standard subroutines? they seems so in PC programming. what about MCUs? who have produced them? can I name for example a bit-bang SPI a middleware? or assume a system has two parts, one is using AVR and one 8051, they have different tasks but need to communicate, for this reason I make a sobrutine in both in their own assembly language to send and receive data in similar way but not necessarily standard way. can I call it middleware? unfortunately I can't understand exactly what IAR's PowerPack is. thanks |
